Fundraising Ideas for Homeschool Co-ops That Actually Make Money

Fundraising. It’s usually a lot of work, not very much fun, and not always worthwhile. But, if you are trying to keep a homeschool co-op going and thriving, you most likely will need to do some fundraising that will bring in a significant amount of money. Here are two fundraising ideas we have done in the past that have been successful and are actually a lot of fun!

Homemade Greeting Cards!

Flyer showcasing handmade greeting cards designed by Lighthouse Learning students, for sale to help fund a trip to Wolf Ridge Environmental Learning Center, featuring four images of colorful, hand-decorated cards tied with twine, with a list of occasion packs and pricing.

We chose categories like Christmas, Mother’s Day, Birthday, Thinking of You, Get Well Soon, Sympathy, Congratulations, I Love You, etc. You can come up with whatever categories you like! Then we assigned the kids a couple different categories so that we had a variety of all of them. We spent the day looking at examples of what makes a good greeting card (simple, big words, bright, neat and easy to read) and then the kids worked on their drafts of their cards. Once they were happy with their designs, they copied them onto a piece of white paper for their final copy. We bought blank cards and envelopes - these ones. I used the template from Avery.com to print the cards right from our printer. We put them in packs of 10, tied them with twine, and sold them for $10/pack. They were a hit! Grateful Giving Campaign!

We love the Grateful Giving Campaign because it is a way for us to get involved in community service and helping others in need. We like to do this in November because it is right before the holiday season, when people tend to need help the most. Our generous donors like knowing that their donations are going to a good cause and that we are paying forward their generosity. To do this, come up with a list of 10 areas in your community where your co-op could make the most difference. Good luck! I hope these ideas help!

A charity fundraising infographic titled 'Lighthouse Learning Grateful Giving Campaign' with a lighthouse illustration at the top. It lists various donation amounts ($1,000 to $10,000) with corresponding community service activities, such as picking up litter, volunteering at the humane society, helping at the library, baking cookies, assisting church members, shoveling sidewalks, adopting a family from the Angel Tree, filling Operation Christmas Child boxes, and planning senior citizen game days. The bottom includes donation instructions through a link, text, and a QR code.
